UPDATED: 7 Places to Watch the US Presidential Election Results

Can you believe that the whole Trump-versus-Clinton saga is almost over? Neither can we. We have an inkling as to how this whole thing is going to pan out. But, as with this entire election campaign, you never know what’s going to happen.

We always enjoy watching as the election results roll in. And luckily there are a few places around town who will have live coverage of the results on Wednesday morning. (Don’t get confused: the election is on November 8, but results will start coming in the morning of November 9 here in Beijing). There are also a few presidential quizzes and events going on around town in honor of the big day.

So here you have it:

Caravan

Caravan will be opening its doors at 8am in honor of the occasion. They’ll be serving breakfast and Jing-A's 'Ale to the Chief.' As each state turns in their results, the price for either the Ale to the Chief (blue states) or the Bloody Pirate (red states) will go down by RMB1.

Cuju

Cuju will also have live coverage of the results. They’ll have the same beer deals as Caravan (see above).

Ron Mexico

Ron Mexico is getting into the spirit of the election. They’ll be serving a breakfast buffet (tacos!), and they’ll have a bunch of discounted drinks.

The Local

The Local is showing the election results, but rumor has it they’ve already sold out. So it’s probably best to head elsewhere.

The Bookworm

If bars aren't your vibe, surround yourself with other bookish Beijinger’s to watch it all go down from 7am. Door cover (RMB60) includes coffee/tea and a choice of breakfast sets. RSVP here or try your luck on the door (first-come, first-served).

The Bridge Cafe

Wudaokou dwellers fear not because The Bridge Cafe is where it’s at (from 7am). The team are even promising an 'Election Watch Beer Special' -- if Hillary wins, a round of beer is on the house.

Arrow Factory

Arrow Factory will be opening up at 11am, just in time to show the results. There will be happy hour prices all day long, inlcuding RMB10 beers.

Presidential Quizzes & Other Events:

Presidential Pub Quiz @ Home Plate

Word is still out on whether or not Home Plate will actually have live coverage of the election results. But they will be hosting a Presidential Pub Quiz on Tuesday (Nov 8). So if you’re a know it all when it comes to past and present presidential politics in the US – or at least think you are – sign up. There will be happy hour specials on well drinks and Goose Island beer specials. The festivities will kick off at 9pm. Head over to Home Plate in Sanlitun to sign up for the quiz (spaces are limited).

See event listing.

US Election Evening @ Dog House

The Dog House is holding a special election evening on Tuesday November 8 at 7.30pm. There will be RMB25 hot dogs and RMB20 beer and wine. Entrance is free but make sure to RSVP here
